Designed for the Linux Desktop
TaskForge for Linux is being planned with the diversity of the Linux ecosystem in mind. Whether you run a mainstream distribution or a niche one, our goal is to provide a consistent and reliable experience for managing your Obsidian tasks.
Distribution Support
We are aiming to support a wide range of Linux distributions from the start. We're exploring multiple packaging formats to make installation straightforward, regardless of which distribution you prefer.
- Ubuntu and Debian-based distributions via .deb packages
- Fedora, openSUSE, and RPM-based distributions via .rpm packages
- Arch Linux and Manjaro via AUR or pre-built packages
- Distribution-agnostic formats including AppImage and Flatpak
- Snap package support is also being considered for broader reach
Desktop Environment Integration
We're planning to integrate with the desktop environments Linux users rely on every day. TaskForge is expected to feel native whether you use GNOME, KDE Plasma, or another environment, with support for system themes, tray icons, and notification systems.
