Calendar viewing is free, not Premium
Shipped in version 3.0.0
Some in-app copy and store listings used to describe full calendar navigation and calendar event integration as Premium features. That was never true of the shipped app. Every current surface now says the right thing.
What's actually free
- The full calendar view, in Day, Week, and Month modes
- Selecting any date, past or future, and browsing between months
- Viewing your device's native calendar events (Apple Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook, Exchange, or any CalDAV provider synced to your device) alongside your tasks, once you turn on Calendar Events in Settings and grant calendar permission
Windows calendar integration is planned for 3.1.0 and is not available at the 3.0 launch. Connecting Google or Microsoft accounts and viewing their events will be free when that feature is released.
What's still Premium
- Creating and editing calendar events (long-press a time slot, drag to create, or use Quick Add's event mode)
- Advanced calendar filtering and unlimited custom lists
- All notifications, including calendar event reminders
What changed
This is a copy correction, not a behavior change. The app already worked this way. Fixed in all 18 supported languages:
- A leftover in-app tour string that implied viewing calendar events required upgrading to Premium
- A settings label that read "Calendar Event Management" (now "Create & edit calendar events," which matches what the feature actually gates)
- Website pages and FAQ answers that listed "calendar views," "full date selection & navigation," or "calendar event integration" as Premium features
Blog posts from earlier releases are left as written. They are dated records of what shipped at the time, not current feature documentation.
A check now runs on every content build (npm run check:calendar-free) that
reads every locale file and the app's own strings, and fails the build if any
of them ties calendar viewing, date selection, or month navigation to Premium.
