Your calendar, inside Today, Upcoming and Inbox
Shipped in version 3.0.0
TaskForge ships with six built-in spaces. Three of them now carry a calendar section underneath their tasks, so the thing you have to do and the thing you have to be at sit on one screen.
What each space shows
Today shows what is happening today. Just today, nothing from tomorrow, nothing from next week. It sits under your task list as a section called "Schedule", so a glance at Today answers both "what am I working on" and "when am I interrupted".
A multi-day event (a conference, a holiday, a trip) shows in Today on every day it runs, not only the day it starts. Events that have already finished stay in the list for the rest of the day; Today is the whole day, not just the part of it that is left.
Upcoming shows events from tomorrow through the end of the same window its task list already covers. Today's events are deliberately left out, and so is anything already under way, so an event never appears in both spaces at once.
Inbox shows invitations you haven't answered yet, for the month ahead. Inbox is where undecided things live, and an unanswered invitation is exactly that. Once you accept, decline or mark yourself as tentative, in TaskForge or in your device's calendar app, the event leaves the section.
Only real invitations appear here. Events on a calendar you subscribe to but were never invited to (holidays, birthdays, sports fixtures) are not awaiting your reply and stay out of it.
Tap any event to peek at it; long-press (or right-click on a Mac) for the same actions you get anywhere else.
If you haven't connected a calendar
TaskForge asks once. You'll see a short "Calendar Access Needed" note in the section with a Grant Access button and a Not now button.
- Tap Grant Access and your device asks for calendar permission. Allow it, and the sections fill in immediately.
- If you say no at your device's own permission dialog, nothing is dismissed TaskForge offers to take you to the system settings page instead, since your device will not ask a second time. The prompt stays where it is.
- Tap Not now and the sections disappear. That, and only that, is the choice that puts them away: TaskForge will not ask again and will not leave an empty section sitting there.
Changed your mind later? Turn calendar access on in Settings → Calendar Events and the sections come back on their own.
The prompt is per-device. Declining on your phone doesn't hide the sections on your Mac.
If you've customized your spaces
Nothing is overwritten. TaskForge only adds a calendar section to a space that doesn't already have one, and it only ever tries once. If you renamed Today, changed its filters, added your own sections, or removed the calendar section entirely, all of that is left exactly as you set it.
That applies while your premium subscription is active. Customizing the built-in spaces is a premium feature, so if premium lapses, the built-in spaces go back to showing their standard layout, calendar sections included, until it is active again. Your customizations are not deleted; they come back with premium.
Free and premium
Viewing events is free; these sections work on every install. Creating and editing events, and building your own spaces, remain premium.
