One list menu, everywhere

Shipped in version 2.7.1

TaskForge shows your custom lists in two places: the tab bar across the top of the home screen, and the Lists tab under Organize. You can long-press a list in either place to get a quick menu of actions.

Until now those two menus were inconsistent: the Organize menu let you duplicate a list, but the tab-bar menu didn't; the tab-bar menu had an Edit shortcut the Organize menu lacked; and the wording differed between them.

Now they're the same everywhere. Long-press (or right-click, on Mac) any list and you'll get the same four actions, in the same order:

  • Edit list: open the list's settings to change its filters, name, or defaults.
  • Duplicate this list: make a copy of the list to tweak, without touching the original.
  • Hide list / Show list: hide a list from the tab bar (or bring a hidden one back).
  • Delete this list: remove the list. (Deleting tasks isn't affected; only the list view is removed.)

Duplicating a list

Choosing Duplicate this list opens the new-list editor pre-filled with a copy of everything in the original (filters, sorting, grouping, and default values), named " (copy)". Review or rename it, then save. The new copy appears right after the list you copied from, so it's easy to find.

Duplicating creates a new custom list, which is a premium feature. If you're not subscribed, TaskForge shows the upgrade screen when you tap Duplicate this list, so you find out up front, before filling anything in.

Notes

  • The Hide / Show label adapts to the list: on the tab bar (which only shows visible lists) it always reads "Hide list"; in Organize, a hidden list offers "Show list" instead.
  • The very last remaining list can't be deleted, in either place: you'll always have at least one list.
  • On Mac you can also right-click a list to open the same menu.
