A cleaner look: true black, one mint accent
Shipped in version 3.0.0
TaskForge has a new look. It's the same app you know, every screen, list, and setting is where it was, but the surfaces, colours, and edges have been redrawn to be plainer and more deliberate.
What changed
- True black and white, not a warm grey. Dark mode's canvas is now pure black; light mode's is pure white. This used to be an optional toggle ("Tinted background" or, before that, "Neutral background") that only some people turned on. Now it's just how the app looks, no toggle required. Cards and sheets still lift a step above the canvas so they read as separate surfaces.
- A new default accent. The default highlight colour is now mint, not the brand violet from earlier builds. It shows up on task-line syntax, links, selected items, and focus rings, and stays out of the way everywhere else.
- Edges, not shadows. Cards, sheets, menus, and dialogs separate with a clean 1-pixel hairline and a change in tone, instead of drop shadows and glows. Corners are a touch crisper too.
- A calmer palette. The chips that tag your tasks (tags, contexts, projects, dates) are muted rather than bright primary colours, still easy to tell apart, just easier on the eyes.
Make it yours
Your accent colour is still yours. Open Settings → Appearance and pick from a set of curated swatches, or, with Premium, choose any colour you like from the full colour picker. Whatever you choose is automatically tuned to stay readable in both light and dark mode.
Platform notes
The refresh applies across iOS, Android, and macOS. If you've set a custom accent colour, it's preserved, only the default changed.
