Home-screen widgets get sections, bigger sizes, and two new tiles
Shipped in version 3.0.0
TaskForge's spaces can hold task, event, and note sections side by side (see "Lists are now Spaces"). Until this release, the matching widget only ever showed one of those: the tasks. This release catches the widget up.
The space widget shows every section
Add a space widget for a multi-section space and you now get the whole thing: task rows, event rows, and note rows, each under its section's own header, in the order you arranged them in the app. A single-section space still renders exactly as before, no header clutter added.
Medium and large widgets can lay sections out in columns instead of one long list. Long-press the widget (or tap its gear on Android) to pick a specific section to show instead of the whole space, and to set the column count.
A size we've never shipped before
Extra-large is new on every platform this release supports it on: iPad and Mac. It's roughly triple the row count of large, which is where a space with three or four sections finally has room to breathe instead of scrolling.
Every size, small included, is now driven by an actual measurement of your font, Dynamic Type setting, and row density, rather than a hardcoded row count. The old fixed caps meant a large Daily Agenda widget stopped at 3 to 6 rows regardless of how much vertical space it had; it now fits as many rows as genuinely fit.
Android: reconfigure without deleting the widget
Android's task widget can now be reconfigured after you've placed it, through the same settings screen used at setup: long-press the widget and choose the option Android surfaces for widget settings (wording varies by launcher), or tap the widget's own title. Space, section, and column choices live there now too, next to font size, density, and background.
A tile for today's note
If you keep a daily note, there's now a small home-screen widget for it: today's date, the day of the week, and the first line or two of whatever you've already written. Tap it to jump straight into today's note, creating it first if you haven't started one yet. It has no configuration; add it and it's done.
Note capture in Control Center
Two new controls join the Quick Add and Search controls we already ship on iOS 18+ and macOS 26+ (System Settings → Control Center on iPhone/iPad, or System Settings → Control Center on Mac): New Note opens TaskForge straight into composing a note, and Daily Note opens today's note the same way the home-screen tile does.
What didn't change
Month view's dots-versus-previews setting, covered in its own release note, works the same in the calendar widgets as it does in the app. Up Next and the task widget's tap-to-toggle behavior are unchanged. None of this touches what's stored in your vault or how sync works; it's rendering only.
