How Do I Add TaskForge Widgets?
iPhone & iPad
- 1 Long press on your home screen until apps start jiggling.
- 2 Tap the + button in the top-left corner to open the widget gallery.
- 3 Search for 'TaskForge' and select it from the list.
- 4 Choose a widget size - Small (2x2), Medium (4x2), or Large (4x4).
- 5 Tap 'Add Widget' to place it on your home screen.
- 6 Configure the widget by long-pressing it and selecting 'Edit Widget' to choose which list to display.
Mac
- 1 Right-click on your desktop and select 'Edit Widgets'.
- 2 Search for 'TaskForge' in the widget gallery.
- 3 Drag the widget to your desktop or Notification Center.
- 4 Click the widget to configure which list to display.
Android
- 1 Long press on an empty area of your home screen.

How Do I Customize Widget Appearance and Behavior?
Each TaskForge widget can be configured independently from the main app settings, giving you fine-grained control over what you see on your home screen.
Independent Widget Configuration
Every widget you place on your home screen has its own settings. One widget can show your Today list grouped by priority while another shows your Work list grouped by status. These configurations are completely independent - changing one widget does not affect any other. This lets you build a home screen dashboard that shows exactly the information you need at a glance.
Grouping Options in Widgets
Widgets support the same grouping options as the main app. You can group tasks by priority, status, tags, or due date directly within the widget display. Priority grouping is especially useful in widgets because it surfaces your most important tasks at the top, so you always see what matters most without scrolling.
Property Visibility Controls
Choose which task properties appear in your widgets. Show or hide due dates, priority indicators, tags, and other metadata depending on how much detail you want. A minimal widget might show just task titles for a clean look, while a detailed widget could include due dates and priority levels for full context.
Widget-Specific Column Ordering
When using grouping in widgets, you can customize the order in which groups appear. Put high-priority tasks at the top or arrange status columns in your preferred workflow order. This ordering is saved per widget, so your carefully arranged layout persists across widget refreshes and device restarts.
Can I Use TaskForge Widgets on My Lock Screen?
Not as widgets. TaskForge has no Lock Screen widgets, but on iOS 18 its controls can sit on the Lock Screen. These are the closest options.
iPhone and iPad
Add a TaskForge widget to the home screen in small, medium or large sizes (extra large on iPad). On iOS 18 you can also put Quick add, Search, Calendar, New note and Daily note controls on the Lock Screen or in Control Center, and each opens that screen in one tap.
Android
TaskForge has six home screen widgets on Android: Spaces, Daily note, Up next, Agenda, Month and Month split. Five Quick Settings tiles add a task, open search, open Today, open the daily note or start a new note.
A Quick Glance Without Unlocking
Notifications are how a due task reaches your lock screen. Reminders and a daily summary of the day's tasks and events arrive like any other notification. Notifications need TaskForge Premium.
